• Regular air-dry polish
• Base coat and top coat
• Nail file
• Fine nail-art brush for painted details

Steps

1. Gently shape the free edge; leave the cuticles intact.
2. Start with clean, dry nails. Apply base coat according to its label.
3. Apply thin coats of your chosen regular polish and let each layer dry.
4. Let the base dry. With a fine nail-art brush, sketch one small section of the reference line at a time using contrasting regular polish. Keep plenty of the base visible; start with one accent nail if the full pattern feels too intricate.
5. Add top coat following its label and allow enough drying time.

Tips

• Sketch the checker spacing on a practice surface first and limit the pattern to two accents so the small squares stay readable.
• Mocha checker accents. Use this original concept as a visual reference. The home version uses regular polish and does not reproduce extensions, raised decorations or specialist salon effects.

Aftercare

Follow each product’s drying and removal directions. Avoid using nails as tools; use hand or cuticle products only as their labels direct.
